triptych window depicts Venantius Fortunatus, who was a Sixth Century bishop in France. He
is credited with writing many hymns which are still sung today, including Vexilla Regis, a
favorite at the cathedral. He is venerated as a saint in France and Italy; his feast
day is December 14.
