Story in the Glass

This window depicts Saint Vincent de Paul.  Born in France about 1580, Vincent was ordained in 1600.  He worked in Paris among the poor and in 1625 he founded the Congregation of the Mission, devoted to missionary work among peasants.  He also established parish confraternities to aid the poor.  His feast day is September 27.

Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?...And the king will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of these the least of my breathern, you did it to me.' Matt 25:37, 40

Story of the Glass

This window was created around 1880, probably manufactured by a German studio.  It was the gift of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Boston.

The window is located in the south nave.
