| Story in the Glass This
window depicts Saint Cecilia, a Roman martyr of unknown date. The unreliable details of
her martyrdom are best known for the information that at her wedding she informed her
husband to be of her vow of virginity, and won him over to respect this. At the
wedding, while the pipes (organ) were playing, she sang in her heart to Christ. This
gave rise to the tradition that honors her as the patroness of musicians. She is
often shown, as here, playing the organ. Her feast day is November 22. |

Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights

Story of the Glass This
window was created around 1880, probably manufactured by a German studio. It was a
gift in memory of Rev. A. Sherwood Healy, Rector of the Cathedral 1870 to 1874.
The window is located in the south nave. |
