SISTER KIMBERLY STULA

My journey to Carmel has been joyful and persistent (the Lord keeps teaching me).   It was 2004 that I kept asking the question, “How can I serve You, Lord?”   I know with my family’s prayer, Prayer Community, friends and intercession of St. Therese of Lisieux, He led me here.

It was “Story of a Life” that changed my heart to love Jesus more.  There were many graces during this discernment time.  Mom, my Spiritual Director, and I have been praying for my vocation for a number of years.  It was then that I made contact with the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm.  God planted the seed and October 23, 2004, I spoke with my Mom and said I will be in Carmel.  A year later, October 23, 2005, was the day I said “yes” to Jesus, and to have a life full of boundless love for God’s people, and to serve Him endlessly.

SISTER KATHERINE TWITCHELL

For many years God patiently called me to religious life, but it was only in surrendering more fully to God that I was led to a Community that is both active and contemplative, where I could use my gifts as a nurse practitioner.  After seeing an ad in Visions Magazine for the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, I went on a discernment retreat the weekend Pope John Paul II died.  The Pope’s message, ‘Do not be afraid’, reverberated through me and on my birthday as well as Divine Mercy Sunday I joyfully said ‘yes’ to God’s call
