February 12, 2008 - CatholicTV Lenten Programming

February 12, 2008, WATERTOWN, MA - CatholicTV offers a variety of programming as the season of Lent gets underway. Cardinal Seán O'Malley's "CardinalCast" series features five informative talks on Lent.  "CardinalCast" will be featured on the home page of the station's web site www.CatholicTV.com and also by clicking on the series "Blink" from the website.  Each talk focuses on a different aspect of Lent including fasting, abstinence, the significance of ashes and more.  Each talk focuses on a different aspect of Lent including fasting, abstinence, the significance of ashes and more.

In addition, CatholicTV brings you "Stations of the Cross" with Father Robert Reed every Friday during Lent at noon.

The station is also airing an original Lenten mini-series featuring Father Lenny Tighe, examining the icon "The Raising of Lazarus". Father Tighe's six-part series can be seen several times each week or anytime on demand at CatholicTV.com.

One of CatholicTV's partners, Salt & Light Television, based in Toronto, has also produced Lenten Reflections that can be seen on CatholicTV or at its web site. Father Thomas Rosica, Salt & Light's president and CEO offers a different reflection each week.

As Lent comes to a close, CatholicTV will provide live coverage of Holy Week services from Boston's Cathedral of the Holy Cross. Beginning with the Mass of Chrism, followed by Holy Thursday and Good Friday services, culminating with the Easter Vigil, CatholicTV will broadcast live events from the cathedral during Holy Week.  Please check local channel listings.
