November 14, 2007 - Cardinal's Statement On the Passing of Rev. Edward F. Boyle, S.J. (Director of the Office for Industrial Relations Labor Guild)"With great sadness I learned of the passing of Fr. Edward Boyle, S.J. As the Director of the Labor Guild for the Archdiocese of Boston, Fr. Boyle helped to champion support for working families during nearly four decades in the area of labor-relations. He dedicated his priestly ministry to social justice in the workplace and he was instrumental in guiding us as an Archdiocese these many years in this area. His work was the work of Jesus Christ in building up neighborhoods and communities so families across the Archdiocese could enjoy full and productive lives. We will miss his energy, knowledge and passion for the ministry he was called to do by God. We thank our friends in Labor for their support of Fr. Boyle and we are committed to carrying on his efforts so that working families can continue to enjoy the benefits he advocated for as priest of the Archdiocese."
