"We are very pleased to hear that President Bush intends to nominate Dr. Mary Ann Glendon to serve as the United States' Ambassador to the Holy See. Dr. Glendon's career is marked with numerous achievements in law, education and international affairs that provide her exemplary credentials for this post. In addition, Dr. Glendon would bring a valuable expertise by virtue of her experience leading the Holy See's delegation to the United Nation' s 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing and serving as President of the Pontifical Academy of Social Science. It is our hope and prayer that Dr. Glendon's nomination will be confirmed expeditiously."
