INFO:
The Red Mass is the name for the Mass of the Holy Spirit offered to invoke God's blessings on the judges, attorneys and others working to provide justice throughout the judicial system. The custom began in the thirteenth century in Europe.

The Catholic Lawyers Guild is a professional organization. Annually, it focuses on the celebration of the Red Mass and luncheon. Guild members attend mass together on the first Friday of every month and periodically provide pro bono legal help to clients of the St. Francis House.

Past speakers at the annual Catholic Lawyers' Guild luncheon have included former President George H.W. Bush, Supreme Court Justice Antonin G. Scalia, former Boston University President John Silber, and former Attorney General John Ashcroft among many others throughout the 18 years of the event being held in Boston.
