September 30, 2005 - Statement of the Archdiocese on Marriage
Petition and Schools
(Brighton, MA) September 30, 2005...The Archdiocese of Boston wishes
to clarify that its Catholic school students will not and should not be asked
to bring home the marriage petition paperwork as has been previously reported.
For information about the petition drive, people can contact the Massachusetts
Catholic Conference (MCC) for either an email version of the petition or
to request it by mail. MCC's number is 617-367-6060; their web page
is www.macathconf.org.
The petition will also be available at individual parishes. Parishes have
been asked to assist in this effort by collecting signatures after Masses
or at
other parish events.
