October 29, 2002 - Statement of Donna M. Morrissey, Spokeswoman, Archdiocese
of Boston on meeting between Bishop Edyvean and Voice of the Faithful
Bishop Walter Edyvean, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for
the Archdiocese of Boston held a third meeting with representatives of
the Voice of the Faithful. Joining Bishop Edyvean were other representatives
of the Archdiocese of Boston including two pastors. The discussion focused
on the Voice of the Faithful's efforts to articulate their third goal
with regard to change in the Church and the individual parish groups of
the organization. The discussions were cordial and productive. Both the
Archdiocese of Boston and the Voice of the Faithful look forward to continuing
an open dialog.
Bishop Edyvean informed those present that His Eminence Cardinal Law
would like to schedule a meeting with representatives of Voice of the
Faithful. The Cardinal desires to have this meeting even before the ongoing
conversations are concluded.
