June 13, 2003 -It was erroneously reported on WBZ TV news June 12, 2003 that the tuition for St. Brigid’s Parish School, South Boston was $5000 per year as opposed to St. Augustine’s School which was only $2200. In fact, the tuition at St. Brigid School is $3075 per year. St. Brigid School currently has 260 students and a larger number of faculty than St. Augustine’s School. It was also reported that “parents tried to talk to someone from the Archdiocese yesterday [Wed. 6/11] but no one responded.” The efforts on the part of parents to speak with the administration of the Archdiocese was a demonstration of over 100 parents and children on Wednesday evening at the Chancery. Their efforts to “talk with someone from the Archdiocese” consisted of pounding on doors of buildings that were closed for the day. |
