Letter to Catholic School Principals:

September 28, 2004

Dear Principals of our Catholic Schools and Catholic Educators,

I am writing to encourage you to schedule Mr. Jason Evert to speak to your students during his visit to the Archdiocese in March 2005. Mr. Evert, 29, is a nationally recognized speaker on the important topic of sexual purity. He has a remarkable ability to present the beauty of human sexuality and the truth of God's teaching on the virtue of chastity in an effective and engaging way. His presentations are filled with heartfelt emotion, valuable facts and wonderful humor that truly capture the attention of his young audience.

I have heard this young man speak and witness to his Catholic faith, and I have seen first hand how positively our young people react to him.

In today's culture, it is not easy to effectively convey the truth of God's love regarding His gift of sexuality, yet our students deserve to hear this truth often and from numerous sources. To that end, I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Jason Evert to your school.

Thanking you for your dedication to the young of our Archdiocese, and with the assurance of remembrance in my prayers, I remain

Devotedly yours in Christ,

Seán Patrick O’Malley, OFM Cap
+Archbishop of Boston

Endorsement of Dr. Meg Meeker's Book:
Epidemic - Raising Great Teens In a Toxic Sexual Culture

It is my pleasure to endorse Dr. Meg Meeker's new book, "Epidemic-Raising Great Teens in a Toxic Sexual Culture.” Dr. Meeker has generously given of her time and professional expertise to write a book that not only encourages teens to live healthy lives but to do so in a morally acceptable manner in accordance to Catholic teachings. Moreover, it assists parents in giving them information and tools to help in the raising of their children and reinforce their role as primary educators. I encourage all parents of adolescents to read this book as well as combine it with the new Catholic teaching pamphlet, "God's Great Plan" that complements this book so beautifully. I wish all parents many blessings as you raise your children in the faith.
