The Respect Life Education Office is very pleased to once again offer our Respect for Life Speaker Program throughout the Archdiocese for middle school and high school students, along with their parents and teachers. Our speaker program teaches about our Catholic beliefs regarding Respect for Life and Respect for Human Sexuality: Chastity. Both of these talks are 90-minutes in length and are continuously updated and improved to offer the highest quality material along with the most current information available. The evaluations are consistently returned filled with praises for the content and format, as well as the speakers. In addition to the above two programs, this year we will be offering a new Parent Program—in both English and Spanish! Current research states that “parents are the most important influence in their children’s lives”---in this presentation we are simply attempting to assist them in their jobs as parents by providing them with some necessary tools. The seminar is called “Teens & Sex – What Parents Need to Know.” (See seminar outline here)
Pediatrician, Dr. Meg Meeker, and author, Chris Godfrey, have continued to work with us to develop a chastity curriculum and have provided us with excellent resources for parents, which we utilize in this talk (and offer materials to parents for purchase.) We have recently trained a dozen teams to present this new and extremely informative seminar and encourage you to take advantage of this program for your student’s parents. A flyer regarding this talk is available here. You may find it helpful when advertising this 90-minute talk. We recommend this particular talk be held separately from the student talks.
