Admissions
The Master of Arts in Ministry Degree Program is open to all Catholic
laity without regard to race, gender, or national origin who are seeking
to deepen their knowledge of the Roman Catholic Faith and/or serve in leadership
roles in their parishes. The basic requirement for admission to the Master
of Arts in Ministry program is a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
plus the requisite qualities of character and commitment to the mission
of the Church. The applicant must submit a fully completed written application
with accompanying Application Fee of $75.00 by the designated deadline.
The application includes an essay, undergraduate and graduate transcripts
and three recommendations. Upon receipt of all the above mentioned materials,
two admissions interviews will be scheduled, one with the director and
assistant director and the second with an admissions committee. Further,
confidential psychological testing will be arranged by the seminary for
the applicants.
The Master of Arts in Ministry Program will be accepting applications
in October and November for January admissions. Any interested applicants
should notify the MAM office to set up appointments for interviews and
psychological testing by early November. All application materials, interviews
and testing needs to be completed in November in time for the Admissions
Board of the Seminary meeting in December. Otherwise, the Master of Arts
in Ministry Program admits degree students for the fall semester. An applicant
may petition to waive the deadline. In addition to degree candidates,
the School of Theology
at St. John's Seminary welcomes lay professionals in the Archdiocese
who seek to take courses for continuing education credits or personal
enrichment.
Students may take up to 5 years to complete the Master of Arts in Ministry
Degree requirements. Auditors are welcome if space is available.
Interested applicants who may miss the fall degree program enrollment
deadline should call the Master of Arts in Ministry Program Office at 617-779-4104
to inquire about taking courses as a non-degree students. Courses successfully
completed for credit while an applicant is a non-degree student will be
counted toward the completion of the Master of Arts in Ministry degree
when an applicant is accepted as a degree student.

Option 2:
